The Symons’ are working in the town of Mbale in western Kenya, where the East Africa School of Mission (EASM) is located. John’s purpose is to develop and teach an introduction to linguistic and translation principles, as well as teaching some other courses. John is further laying the groundwork for a full linguistics course with the college administration to achieve Harvest Bible College certificates for EASM courses.

Kay is home-schooling Joseph, Deborah and Angela, in Mbale. Their other daughters, Melody and Rebecca, are currently living and studying in Australia; Melody is studying nursing and Rebecca has just returned to Australia to complete her high school education.
